Chiropractic radiology is a referral specialty, which provides consultation services at the request of other qualified physicians. Radiologists interpret standard radiographic examinations, as well as advanced imaging procedures such as computerized tomography / magnetic resonance imaging.

Education and credentials of the Chiropractic Radiologist:
The Chiropractic Radiologist is a graduate Doctor of Chiropractic who has continued postgraduate education. Chiropractic colleges that have accreditation status with the Council on Chiropractic Education, CCE, the national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Office of Education, provide residencies. These residences are three-year, full-time positions, which focus on training in clinical diagnostic imaging. As part of these programs the residents spend time in cooperative hospitals and imaging centers to augment the clinical experience received at the chiropractic institutions.

    Recognition of the Chiropractic Radiologist:
Members of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, ACCR, are board certified diplomats of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, DACBR. The distinction of Diplomate status as a DACBR certifies Chiropractic Radiologists as experts of Radiology in their service to the profession.
